The Oklahoma School Plant Management Association Originated in 1978 after state and local school officials recognized the need to identify outstanding people and programs that could provide assistance to others. OSPMA was formed to educate the school community regarding the educational value of well-maintained facilities. The first School Plant Manager workshop was conducted by the State Department of Education December 4th-5th 1978, at Central State University in Edmond. An annual conference has been conducted ever since. A more detailed history is available on request.
