OSPMA ESTABLISHED 1978:
The Oklahoma School Plant Management Association originated in 1978 after state and local school officials recognized the need to identify outstanding people and programs that could provide assistance to others. The organization was formed to educate the school community regarding the educational value of well-maintained facilities. The first School Plant Managers workshop was conducted by the State Department of Education on December 4 and 5, 1978, at Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma. An annual conference/convention has been conducted ever since. A more detailed history is available upon request.
